This role suits someone who enjoys solving scheduling problems, communicates clearly and follows through until an issue is resolved.
Cross Care Group is an Australian care provider offering Community Care, occupational therapy and nursing support. We help people receive coordinated support at home, in the community and after hospital.
Your work will help maintain continuity of care while making daily operations more organised and reliable for our clients, workers and care team.
Prepare and maintain accurate rosters in VisualCare, matching workers to approved services, client needs, required skills, availability and location.
Plan ahead for coverage, identifying unfilled shifts, leave, scheduling conflicts and staffing gaps early.
Manage day-to-day changes, including cancellations, sick leave and urgent replacements, while keeping the relevant people informed.
Confirm shift arrangements with workers and follow up on outstanding responses so coverage is clear and reliable.
Check roster suitability and accuracy, considering worker approval and qualifications, travel time, working hours, breaks and approved service arrangements.
Maintain clear records of roster changes, confirmations, unresolved issues and handovers.
Escalate promptly when suitable coverage cannot be arranged, a change falls outside your authority, or a concern could affect safe service delivery.
Improve recurring rostering problems by identifying patterns and suggesting practical changes.
At least two years of relevant experience in staff rostering, workforce scheduling or care coordination involving staff rosters.
Practical experience allocating workers to shifts, managing availability and resolving short-notice changes.
Strong spoken and written English, including confidence speaking with Australian workers, clients and colleagues by phone.
The ability to manage competing priorities, remain calm under pressure and recognise when to escape.
High attention to detail and reliable follow-through.
Confidence using rostering software, Microsoft Teams, Outlook and Excel.
A professional approach to confidentiality and the secure handling of client and workforce information.
A reliable remote working setup, including a suitable computer, headset, stable internet and a private workspace.
Experience supporting an Australian NDIS, disability, aged-care or home-care provider will be highly regarded. Familiarity with VisualCare or a comparable care-sector rostering platform is also valuable.
