Job summary

UnionBank is seeking a Risk Policy Analyst to monitor credit portfolio risk and support risk management decisions. This role will collaborate with Risk Management to safeguard assets and ensure policy adherence at an operational level.

The analyst will analyze data to support risk appetite settings, partnering with Business, D&A and Credit teams to manage the portfolio and ensure policy implementation and monitoring drive risk control and value creation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field is a plus
• With relevant work experience ideally for analytics-focused role in any industry, experience in financial/banking industry is a plus
• SAS, Python, SQL, R or similar programming or data management skills
• Strong analytical skill
• Effective communication as well as presentation skills
• Experience in project management and stakeholder management is nice-to-have

Responsibilities

• Work as a team within Risk Management to provide supporting data & analysis in setting risk appetite for the product.
• Partner with Business, D&A and Credit counterparts in managing the portfolio to achieve plan numbers and product sustainability.
• Work with Credit and Business counterparts to ensure correct policy implementation on an operational level.
• Provide supporting data & analytics at on portfolio level and segment level for the purpose of monitoring & policy adjustment to policy with the ultimate goal of managing risk and maximizing rewards
• Partner with Risk Reporting teams, provide supporting data for Credit Risk Reporting and Portfolio Quality Review Reporting, as well as ad-hoc reporting as needed
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the company, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

About The Role

The Risk Policy Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for conducting reviews and monitoring of the portfolio to identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to manage UnionBank's portfolio exposure to clients.
