Job summary

Five9 Philippines is seeking a Revenue Accountant with an active CPA to join our office. You will review sales contracts, ensure revenue recognition follows policy and ASC 606, and prepare deal summaries for material transactions.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, experience with NetSuite/Salesforce, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with peers and management in a fast-paced environment. US time/night shift availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience.
• CPA required; Big 4/public accounting experience preferred.
• Revenue recognition experience including ASC 606.
• Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Software/SaaS experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work US time or night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist on sales contract review and assessment.
• Ensure revenue recognition is in accordance with policy and ASC 606.
• Prepare deal/contract summaries for material completed transactions.
• Prepare journal entries for revenue, deferred revenue and accounts receivable on a worldwide basis.
• Assist with financial audits including reconciliations, support documentation, and communications with external auditors.
• Assist with month end and quarter end close activities.
• Work closely with Sales Operations, Customer Support, and Collections as needed.
• Assist with managing and resolving Billing and Revenue Customer issues.
• Identify and assist with process improvements, including SOX related controls.
• Support revenue accounting and order-to-cash cycle related projects.
• Stay current on new revenue accounting rules and develop policies and processes.

The person in this role should be a strong communicator who is able to work effectively with peers and management alike in a high-paced environment. The ideal candidate is someone who has accounting, strong technical accounting experience and can respond quickly, energetically, and enthusiastically.

Responsibilities

• Assist on sales Contract review and assessment
• Ensure revenue recognition is in accordance with company policy and SaaS revenue recognition accounting standards
• Prepare deal/contract summaries for material completed transactions
• Prepare journal entries for revenue, deferred revenue and accounts receivable related accounts on a worldwide basis
• Assist with financial audits including reconciliations, support documentation, and communication with external auditors
• Assist with month end and quarter end close activities
• Work closely with Sales Operations, Customer Support, and Collection team as needed to obtain information necessary to analyze and reconcile customer accounts
• Assist with managing and resolving Billing and Revenue Customer issues
• Identify and assist with implementation of process improvements, including SOX related process improvements and access controls
• Support and participate on revenue accounting as well as order to cash cycle related projects
• Assist in various projects as needed
• Stay current on new revenue accounting rules and help develop appropriate policies and processes

Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance or related field, minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance,
• CPA Required, Big 4/Public Accounting experience
• Revenue Recognition experience including adoption of ASC 606
• Experience of working with NetSuite and Salesforce is plus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Must have software/SaaS experience
• Must have solid verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
• Amenable to work US time or night shift schedule
