Job summary

METRO NORTH MEDICAL CENTER AND HOSPITAL, INC. in Quezon City seeks a Hemodialysis Technician to support a busy dialysis unit. The role involves preparing machines, priming dialyzers, and maintaining sterility for reuse, under nurse supervision.

You will assist during procedures and help ensure smooth workflow and supply availability. Experience preferred in hemodialysis or dialyzer reuse; a medical-related bachelor’s degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hemodialysis technician training is preferred but not required.
• At least 1 year of experience as hemodialysis technician / reuse technician.
• Graduate of any medical-related bachelor's degree is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the hemodialysis machine by disinfecting before the procedure.
• Primes the dialyzer and bloodlines for each patient.
• Rinses, disinfects and stores the dialyzer after dialysis with proper labeling.
• Disinfects the hemodialysis machine after dialysis to prevent cross-contamination.
• Assists nurse in starting and terminating dialysis to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assists the nurse in patient care during busy hours, not administering drugs.
• Ensures availability of supplies and coordinates with supervisor.
• Performs errands and related tasks for unit operations.

Job description

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Prepares the hemodialysis machine to be used by scheduled patients by disinfecting before the actual procedure.

2. Primes the dialyzer and bloodlines of each patient before the actual procedure.

3. Rinses, disinfects and stores the dialyzer after dialysis ensuring their sterility for subsequent use as well as ensuring proper documentation/labeling in accordance with policies on re-use.

4. Disinfects hemodialysis machine after dialysis with the recommended disinfectants to prevent cross-contamination of the patients.

5. Assists nurse in starting and terminating the dialysis procedure to facilitate the smooth flow of work based on the operating manual procedure.

6. Assists the nurse in rendering patient care, but not in administering any drug, to be able to meet the needs and demands of the patient especially during busy hours.

7. Assures the availability of supplies for everyday use and coordinate with his immediate supervisor.

8. Performs errands and other related tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the unit.
