Responsibilities
Follow policies in re-processing Artificial Kidneys.
Maintain and calibrate reprocessing machines.
Prepare and mix acid and bicarb concentrates.
Ensure correct temperature calibration of the oven and document it.
Maintain log sheets and records per policy.
Document reprocessed dialyzers.
Prepare and mix acid and bicarbonate concentrates as directed.
Test specific gravity of concentrates and ensure parameters.
Refill acid bath and bicarbonate jugs after mixing.
Disinfect and clean acid and bicarbonate mixer weekly.
Check for residual chlorine on disinfected concentrate jugs.
Clean acid and bicarbonate containers at end of day.
Dispose of failed dialyzer and bloodlines properly.
Adhere to infection control and hazardous materials protocols.
Report failed dialyzer to NCC/NIC promptly.

(Semi-Automated dialyzer reprocessing)
Ensures correct temperature calibration of the oven and document such properly.
Maintains log sheets and other records per company policy.
Maintains records and documentations of reprocessed dialyzers.
Prepares and mixes acid and bicarb concentrates as directed.
Test for specific gravity of mixed acid and bicarb concentrates and ensure they are within parameters.
Refill acid bath and bicarb jugs after mixing.
Disinfects and cleans acid and bicarb mixer weekly.
Check for residual chlorine on disinfected concentrate jugs.
Clean acid and bicarb container every end of the day.
Proper disposal of failed dialyzer and bloodlines.
Adheres to infection control and hazardous materials protocols / policies / procedures.
Report failed dialyzer to NCC/NIC immediately for prompt patient information.
