Job summary
NCR Voyix is seeking a Software Support Engineer to provide technical assistance for its retail platform and IoT solutions. You will work across software, platform services, and POS device interaction, investigating incidents and helping identify root causes in hybrid Windows/Linux environments.
You will collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to deliver solutions, maintain documentation, and support cross-training within product pods.
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years in technical support, software support, or production support.
- Experience supporting enterprise retail, POS, or distributed systems.
- Strong troubleshooting across Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Hands-on exposure to OPOS and/or JavaPOS (JPOS) standards.
Responsibilities
- Investigate high-severity escalations with guidance where required.
- Understand interactions between POS, UI/UX, backend services, and cloud-based services.
- Diagnose issues spanning configuration, installation sequencing, and hardware behavior.
- Analyze logs, platform diagnostics, and OS telemetry to identify root cause.
- Reproduce issues in controlled environments to validate findings and fixes.
- Provide clear workarounds and remediation recommendations.
- Support IoT-enabled edge systems and maintain device communication.
