Qualifications

• Proven experience in bookkeeping and small practice accounting, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards relevant to the Philippines
• Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong ability to identify and correct financial errors
• Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
• Familiarity with restaurant-specific accounting procedures, including food cost analysis and inventory management
• Knowledge of Philippine tax compliance requirements, including BIR regulations and filing deadlines
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments
• Diploma or certification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience with payroll processing and employee-related accounting is highly desirable
• A professional demeanour with strong ethical standards and confidentiality awareness

Responsibilities

• Recording and reconciling daily transactions, including sales, expenses, and inventory adjustments specific to restaurant operations
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment to suppliers and collection from customers
• Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly classified
• Processing payroll information and assisting with employee reimbursements and expense management
• Reconciling bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis
• Preparing monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries
• Assisting with the preparation of tax documentation and ensuring compliance with local and national tax regulations
• Managing restaurant-specific accounting matters, such as food costs, labour costs, and operational expense tracking
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records and investigating unusual transactions
• Maintaining organised financial records and documentation for audit purposes
• Supporting budget preparation and variance analysis to monitor financial performance
• Collaborating with management to provide financial insights and recommendations for cost control
