Job summary

Staff X is seeking a Civil Engineer (Stormwater Design) to produce residential stormwater plans and calculations from a home office. You will work on single dwellings, duplexes, and small multi-dwelling developments for Australian clients, with output tracked and progression measured.

The role emphasizes focused stormwater design, with opportunities to independently review other engineers' work and submit plans to clients as competence grows. Remote, full-time position with Staff X benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires AutoCAD with 2–3 years of hands-on experience producing drawings.
• Experience drafting civil plans for residential construction or land development.
• Some exposure to stormwater or drainage design is required.
• Strong civil engineering fundamentals for residential-scale projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for stormwater calculations.

Responsibilities

• Work from the job register to complete assigned residential stormwater design jobs independently.
• Produce drainage plans and calculations to a standard that minimizes revisions, targeting ~1.5 hours per single-dwelling job at full productivity.
• Submit designs to reviewing engineer and finalize drawings for client submission.
• Maintain daily output of ~3 jobs, typically two single-dwelling and one multi-dwelling per day.
• Communicate proactively via Microsoft Teams and respond promptly during work hours.
• Apply SA council requirements and Australian Standards to ensure designs meet local regulations.
• Progress toward independently checking work of other engineers and submitting finalized plans to clients as competence grows.
