Job summary

Jubilant Ingrevia Limited, located at Corporate - Greater Noida, seeks a Research Associate - Semicon to develop non-infringing synthetic routes for semiconductor chemicals. You will evaluate literature and patents, perform process optimization, and contribute to new product development.

The role requires M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry with 3–5 years of industrial experience, and hands-on expertise in Organic Synthesis and impurity control.

Responsibilities

  • Support new product development through chemistry and process optimization.

Job Summary

The Research Associate - Semiconductor Chemicals will be responsible for developing innovative and non-infringing synthetic routes for semiconductor-related specialty chemicals and intermediates. The role involves literature and patent evaluation, laboratory synthesis, process optimization, impurity profiling, and supporting new product development activities while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, intellectual property, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Synthetic Route Design & Development

  • Design and develop efficient, scalable, and non-infringing synthetic pathways for semiconductor chemicals and advanced intermediates.
  • Evaluate multiple synthetic approaches considering patent landscape, cost, yield, quality, and environmental impact.
  • Support new product development through innovative chemistry and process optimization.
  • Conduct extensive literature searches through scientific journals, patents, SciFinder, Reaxys, and other scientific databases.
  • Analyze published research, patent filings, and technological advancements relevant to semiconductor chemicals.
  • Generate technical insights and identify opportunities for novel route development while maintaining freedom to operate (FTO).

3. Chemical Synthesis & Laboratory Execution

  • Execute laboratory-scale synthesis experiments in accordance with project objectives and timelines.
  • Perform reaction screening, process optimization, purification, and isolation activities.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records and prepare technical reports documenting observations, results, and recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and recommend corrective actions.

4. Process Development & Impurity Studies

  • Develop robust and reproducible processes for semiconductor-grade products.
  • Identify, monitor, and develop strategies for controlling process-related impurities and by-products.
  • Participate in process scale-up activities and support technology transfer when required.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain laboratory notebooks, technical reports, and project documentation in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Adhere to intellectual property, regulatory, quality, and EHS requirements.
  • Ensure implementation of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Analytical R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Present technical findings and project updates to the Group Leader and project teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities within the department.
The Person:

Educational Qualification

  • M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from a recognized university/institute.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of industrial experience in Organic Synthesis, Process Development, or R&D.
  • Experience in specialty chemicals, electronic chemicals, semiconductor chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, or related industries will be preferred.
