Job summary

Aviation Partnership Philippines is seeking a highly motivated Research & Development Engineer to join the Operations Support – R&D team.

You will focus on mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and documentation to support aviation maintenance and operational efficiency. Collaboration with engineers and technicians is essential to deliver practical aviation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in Engineering, R&D, Product Development, or related field.
• Experience in prototype development, mechanical design, engineering analysis, or technical documentation.
• Knowledge of CAD and 3D modeling tools (SolidWorks/AutoCAD/CATIA).

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development activities involving mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and documentation.
• Develop and improve tools, equipment, and solutions for aviation maintenance and efficiency.
• Create and review 3D models, technical drawings, fabrication drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Design fixtures, jigs, tooling, and mechanical solutions for aircraft maintenance.
• Perform risk assessments, FMEA, and safety evaluations for new designs and prototypes.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and operational teams to identify requirements and develop solutions.
• Support development of cost-effective and innovative alternatives to OEM tools and equipment.
• Conduct testing, validation, and performance evaluation of prototypes and engineering solutions.

• Support the development of cost-effective and innovative alternatives to OEM tools and equipment
• Conduct testing, validation, and performance evaluation of prototypes and engineering solutions
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and company procedures
• Manage project timelines, documentation, and deliverables from concept through implementation

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 2–3 years of experience in Engineering, Research & Development, Product Development, or a related field
• Experience in prototype development, mechanical design, engineering analysis, or technical documentation
• Knowledge of CAD and 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar software
• Familiarity with materials, manufacturing processes, tooling, and fabrication methods
• Understanding of engineering standards, safety requirements, and risk assessment methodologies
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and technical documentation skills
• Experience working with internal teams and external suppliers is an advantage
