Responsibilities

• Analyse company financials, business models, historical performance, growth drivers and key investment risks.
• Build and review financial models, valuations and return analyses to support investment decisions.
• Support the due diligence process, including financial, commercial and business analysis of prospective investments.
• Prepare investment notes, presentations and recommendations for internal discussions and investment decision-making.
• Participate in interactions with fund managers, promoters, founders and other market participants as part of the evaluation process.
• Track relevant market developments, transactions, valuations and emerging investment themes.
• Support ongoing monitoring and review of existing investments and portfolios.

Research Analyst -Private Equity and Venture Capital (Mumbai)

Objective of the role

The role will involve evaluating private market investment opportunities, conducting company and sector research, supporting due diligence and investment analysis, and monitoring existing investments.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 2 years of experience in investment markets or private markets, with strong financial analysis and research capabilities and a keen interest in evaluating businesses and investment opportunities.

• Experience may be from Private Equity / Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Family Office, Wealth Management / Private Markets, Alternative Investments, Equity Research, Transaction Advisory or similar investment-oriented roles.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, financial analysis and valuation concepts.
• Exposure to financial modelling, due diligence, company analysis and/or investment evaluation is preferred.
• Strong analytical and research orientation with the ability to work with financial and qualitative information.
• Genuine interest in private markets, businesses and investing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analysis in a clear and structured manner.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments. Relevant qualifications (CFA/CA/MBA Finance preferred or in progress)
• End-to-end evaluation of PE & VC opportunities, from initial screening and due diligence to investment recommendations.
• Analysis of business models, financials, valuations, industry dynamics, risks and potential returns from an investor’s perspective.
• Direct interactions with founders, fund managers and other participants in the private markets ecosystem.
• Exposure to direct investments as well as PE/VC funds, across sectors and stages of growth.
