About the role

Lead Associate level position in the private equity team based in Manila working on Asia based primary fund investments and co-investments. As part of the global private equity team, you will assist in sourcing, analyzing and executing private equity investments, help determine where the team invests, produce intellectual capital and market views and support client work. You will gain exposure to highly respected private equity managers, forming opinions on their skill and ability to consistently generate outperformance. You will also underwrite co-investments.

Key responsibilities

  • Source, analyze, and execute private equity primary funds, secondary opportunities, and co-investments
  • Run and maintain financial models and tools
  • Produce investment memorandums and contribute to investment committee discussions
  • Research market opportunities using a variety of financial databases and produce periodic reports that support the team's pipeline evaluation
  • Contribute to the development of the research function, improving methods and tools used
  • Assist in development and presentation of research findings both internally and externally
  • Develop and work in close collaboration with colleagues globally
  • Grow intellectual know-how and become a subject-matter expert
  • Remain heavily engaged in financial market developments
Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Two to four years of private equity fund or co-investment experience, either at an asset manager, endowment, foundation, consultant, or data provider. Other experience within private equity, other private market asset classes or public equity will also be considered.
  • Self-starter who can balance a varied workload and dynamic role
  • Advanced financial analysis and modelling skills
  • Proven effective oral and written communication skills in business English
  • Ability to work on own initiative when required, as well as in a team with enthusiasm to challenge processes and work with the team to effect change.
  • Confidence to communicate and work with people at all levels in a variety of roles, locations and functions
  • Detail and results orientated, with a logical and analytical method of working
  • Moderate travel required
  • Willing to be assigned to APAC shift (8am-5pm Manila), with flexibility to attend global calls when necessary
