Job summary

cas is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations for multiple US-based clients in a 100% remote Independent Contractor role. You will supervise staff, drive month-end accuracy, ensure GAAP compliance, and deliver clean financial data to executives across engagements.

You’ll lead reporting workflows, coach teams, and act as a strategic finance partner, blending technical accounting with client advisory in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with US GAAP exposure.
• 5+ years US Accounting experience and roles.
• 3+ years US Accounting Manager/Director responsibilities.
• Strong US GAAP understanding and ability to interpret standards.
• Hands-on experience reviewing monthly close and financial statements.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; cloud-accounting fluency (QBO/Xero).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Time-zone alignment: comfortable with US business hours.

Responsibilities

• Supervise month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure documentation quality and audit-ready workpapers.
• Apply GAAP to complex accounting areas and resolve issues.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to accounting staff.
• Lead client engagement delivery and communicate financial results to executives.
• Improve processes, templates, and automation in accounting systems.
• Identify risks, report variances, and recommend corrective actions.
