Job summary

MicroSourcing is seeking a Switchgear Specialist to join our San Diego branch. This desk-based role focuses on reading electrical plans, performing take-offs, and preparing detailed switchgear quotations for electrical contractors.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and proactive, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Work from home flexibility is available, with expectations to coordinate with cross-functional teams and manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in switchgear quotation, electrical estimating, or a related field within the electrical distribution or contracting industry.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, circuit breakers, and related components.
• Proven ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications accurately.
• Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—with heavy phone and email correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and specifications to prepare precise switchgear quotations.
• Perform detailed take-offs for switchgear and related components, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Quote switchgear jobs for electrical contractors, often under tight timelines—meeting deadlines is a must.
• Collaborate with account managers, project managers, and manufacturers to ensure pricing accuracy and project alignment.
• Proactively communicate with customers by phone and email to clarify requirements and provide updates.
