Job summary

Sourcedpeople is seeking a Sr. Backend Developer with Shopify experience to design and build scalable backend systems for e-commerce solutions.

You’ll own API design, ERP integrations, and hosting strategies, working remotely in a fast-paced, collaborative team. Ideal candidates have 3+ years building Shopify apps, REST/GraphQL integration, data mapping, and experience with cloud hosting (AWS/Azure/GCP/Netlify).

Qualifications

3+ years building Shopify custom apps and extensions.
Data mapping and transformation across ERP integrations.
REST or GraphQL API integration with authentication and troubleshooting.
JSON and XML data payload handling and transformation.
Git/version control in a documented development environment.
ERP integration background (any ERP, patterns transferable).
Webhook configuration, securing, and consuming event-driven payloads.
Experience with Backend For Frontend design pattern.
Hosting services such as AWS, Azure, GCP or Netlify.

Responsibilities

Architect and build Shopify apps with Admin extensions and Checkout Extensions.
Design, develop, and consume REST/GraphQL APIs with OAuth 2.0 authentication.
Develop data mapping and ERP integration flows; implement BFF patterns.
Configure and secure webhooks for real-time events; deploy across cloud providers.
Maintain code quality with Git in a documented, scalable backend.
Document code and configurations; mentor junior staff.
