Job summary

BruntWork seeks a Senior Construction Estimator to own the estimating process for commercial projects. You will review bids, coordinate with subcontractors, and finalize general conditions, while mentoring a junior estimator. The role includes transitioning workflows to Procore Estimating and building a data-rich system to support smarter bids.

The position is remote with a full-time schedule, and candidates with AI scope tools experience and Excel-to-Procore transitions are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a senior estimator in commercial general contracting.
• Strong proficiency with Procore Estimating tool and Procore Bid Board.
• Deep understanding of drawings, specifications, and scope development.
• Experience with bid leveling, subcontractor coordination, and general conditions pricing.
• Identify scope gaps and ensure coverage across all trades.
• Project management background or understanding of estimates to field execution.
• Excellent attention to detail with reliable estimates.
• Bonus: experience transitioning teams from Excel estimating to construction software.
• Bonus: experience with AI tools for scope sheet creation or estimating support.
• Bonus: mentoring or training junior estimators.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings/specifications to ensure complete scope coverage.
• Finalize bid packages by analyzing subcontractor proposals and leveling bids.
• Insert general conditions and price accordingly based on project management experience.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to secure competitive coverage across trades.
• Mentor and guide a junior estimator in more complex tasks.
• Transition estimating workflows from Excel into Procore Estimating with historical data.
• Leverage AI tools to create accurate scope sheets while keeping final accountability.
• Ensure estimates are thorough, accurate, and reflect realistic project costs.
