Job summary

Verstand Group is seeking a finance professional to own day-to-day accounting integrity, monthly close, payroll and GST/ATO reporting from a remote setup in the Philippines. You will migrate or optimise Reckon One used for bookkeeping and lead system improvements with tangible impact on financial workflows.

The role covers general ledger, reconciliations, monthly close, and reporting to the Managing Director, with independent contractor status and an hourly rate of A$18–A$24 depending on

Qualifications

• Broad financial-accounting experience including general ledger, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and debtor management.
• Practical payroll experience with leave and superannuation obligations.
• Solid understanding of Australian GST and recurring tax requirements (BAS, IAS).
• Ability to prepare and interpret P&L and balance sheet reports.
• Strong capability to learn, configure and improve financial software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records in Reckon One or successor platform.
• Lead monthly bank, balance-sheet and control-account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain general ledger, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Lead monthly close and prepare P&L, balance sheet and management reports.
• Explain financial issues clearly to the Managing Director.
• Oversee accounts payable, supplier reconciliations and payments.
• Prepare client invoices and manage accounts receivable; follow up on overdue items.
• Process payroll and related deductions; maintain payroll records.
• Maintain GST coding and BAS/IAS reporting requirements.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve finance workflows.
