Hunt St is seeking a Senior Accountant based in the Philippines for a 100% remote engagement with an Australian client. You will own core accounting and compliance preparation work and collaborate with an onshore team.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting experience, strong Xero skills (Tax, Ledger, XPM), and proficiency in Ignition, Adobe PDF and MS Office. As an independent contractor, you’ll align with AU business hours while managing your time flexibly.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of accounting experience, Australian public practice preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Xero stack (Tax, Ledger, XPM)
• Proficiency in Ignition, Adobe PDF, MS Office; AccountKit familiarity a plus
• Ability to work remotely and pick up new processes quickly
• No ATO lodgement responsibility; focus on prep and review work

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and workpapers for Australian clients
• Handle day-to-day accounting tasks including reconciliations, BAS preparation, and compliance support
• Work within the Xero ecosystem including Xero Tax, Xero Ledger, XPM, and FYI Docs to manage workflows
• Use software tools like Ignition, Adobe PDF, MS Office, and AccountKit to support accounting and client processes
• Liaise with onshore accountants to clarify issues, resolve discrepancies, and meet deadlines
• Support the practice lead by proactively managing workload and identifying efficiency improvements
