Job summary

Hunt St Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Accountant for a fully remote, independent contractor engagement basis, servicing Australian clients from the Philippines. The role focuses on delivering timely bookkeeping, accounting, and BAS, while mentoring junior staff and improving workflows using AI tools.

You will report to the client Director, manage an acquired portfolio, and align with AU business hours as needed, with autonomy and high trust. CPA/CA or progress toward qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA qualification or actively progressing towards qualification.
• Proven accounting experience, ideally with Australian businesses.
• Experience reviewing or supervising junior bookkeepers/accounting staff.
• Knowledge of BAS and management accounts.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of Australian client portfolio and ensure smooth transition.
• Perform bookkeeping and accounting tasks across client portfolio.
• Review work of junior bookkeepers and provide guidance.
• Prepare and review management accounts and BAS.
• Support delivery of bookkeeping and accounting services across portfolio.
• Progressively supervise offshore team members as team grows.
• Identify workflows improvements using AI tools like Claude.
