Job summary

BruntWork is seeking a detail-minded Residential Construction Estimator to independently produce accurate quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and pricing for Australian residential renovations, extensions, and additions. The role focuses on translating drawings into watertight estimates and requires strong commercial acumen, precision, and ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience in Australian residential market.
• Experience interpreting architectural drawings, plans and specifications.
• Experience pricing materials, labour, trades and subcontractors.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, remotely and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate project estimates and pricing based on scope, drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Estimate Australian residential renovation, extension, and addition projects.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural and construction drawings.
• Build detailed cost breakdowns covering labour, materials, trades, subcontractors, and other project costs.
• Review project scope to ensure all required work and costs are captured.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, and potential cost risks.
• Review and validate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Update estimates based on scope changes, revised drawings, variations, and client requirements.
• Maintain consistency and accuracy across estimates and pricing structures.
