Job summary

KamelMedia is seeking a Property Accountant/Controller to oversee accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of multifamily and residential properties. The role covers property-level records, tenant accounting, vendor payments, owner reporting, reconciliations, budgets, cash flow monitoring, and month-end close.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of related experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience with month-end close and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage full accounting cycle for residential/multifamily properties including monthly close and financial statement preparation.
• Review rent rolls, tenant ledgers, reconcile rental income and charges, and monitor receivables.
• Oversee accounts payable, vendor coding, statements, and payment scheduling.
• Prepare monthly owner financial statements, reconcile owner accounts, and explain variances to owners/senior management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual analysis with property managers.
• Supervise accounting staff and ensure deadlines and controls are met.
• Coordinate with CPAs, auditors, lenders, and tax professionals to improve close timelines and reporting accuracy.
