Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in U.S. healthcare, medical billing, revenue cycle or related administrative role.
• Experience with insurance verification and COB processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit patient intake packets to identify new versus readmitted patients.
• Create and maintain accurate patient profiles by validating demographics and registration information.
• Determine and document payer sequencing (primary/secondary/tertiary) as applicable.
• Perform insurance eligibility verification across commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers.
• Navigate payer portals and systems to validate coverage and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct outbound calls to insurance companies and eligibility departments as needed.
• Collaborate with facilities, providers, payers, and internal teams to resolve missing or conflicting insurance information.
• Identify and submit prior authorization requests when necessary.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all verification and registration activities.
• Prioritize tasks based on patient urgency and schedules.
• Respond to intake inquiries via email and phone.
• Handle incoming business office calls and provide support.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance when handling confidential information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
