Job summary

Expedock is seeking an Ocean Import Operations coordinator to manage end-to-end shipments for a US-based client. You will coordinate pre-arrival, customs clearance, deliveries, and detention management while liaising with overseas agents, steamship lines, and brokers.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work night shifts in the US EST time zone. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in ocean imports, familiarity with ISF/AMS, and experience using TMS

Qualifications

• 2-4 years experience in Ocean Import Operations (FCL & LCL)
• Knowledge of US import procedures including ISF, AMS, PGA
• Coordination with steamship lines, customs brokers, truckers, and overseas agents
• Ability to track Last Free Day (LFD) for demurrage and detention
• Experience handling delivery appointments and cost approvals
• Proficiency with freight forwarding systems/TMS
• Night shift (US EST) availability
• Productivity monitoring via Insightful tool

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pre-arrival and Arrival Notice management with origin offices and agents
• Coordinate customs clearance and resolve holds (AMS, PGA, exams)
• Arrange deliveries and trucking with consignee/broker
• Monitor detention/per diem and disputes on carrier invoices
• Close files, reconcile invoices, and provide proactive customer updates
