Job summary

Staff X - Offshore Staffing is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter to translate customer concepts into production-ready 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.

This full-time remote role sits in a lean engineering team that builds waste and materials handling equipment. You own the documentation pipeline—BOMs, revisions, and PDM—and work with autonomy, reporting directly to the Lead Mechanical Engineer on project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Advanced SolidWorks proficiency.
• Minimum four years of hands-on mechanical design and drafting experience.
• Industry background in materials handling, wet processing, mining, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
• Ability to produce detailed, workshop-ready fabrication drawings.
• Hands-on experience with a PDM system for BOM management and revision control.
• Ability to work independently with sound engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer specifications and engineering concepts into production-ready 3D models using SolidWorks.
• Produce detailed fabrication drawings suitable for manufacturing and workshop use.
• Generate Bills of Materials and maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Manage drawing revisions and document control within the PDM system.
• Collaborate with Lead Mechanical Engineer on project deliverables.
