Job summary

Counsel CPAs & Advisors is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to work remotely with US-based law-firm clients. You will handle hands-on accounting, client advisory support, and review responsibilities to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

The role emphasizes IOLTA reconciliations, trust accounting, and supporting leadership with client books in QuickBooks Online. Strong English communication and time management are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of U.S. experience within an accounting firm or bookkeeping firm servicing law firm clients.
• Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
• Strong understanding of account reconciliations and financial reporting
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Teams
• Knowledgeable with CLIO (preferable)

Responsibilities

• Accounting & Financial Management
• Perform IOLTA reconciliations
• Maintain and manage client books in QuickBooks Online
• Review QuickBooks files for accurate coding, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and transaction completeness
• Perform accounting clean-ups and catch-up work for clients with incomplete records
• Classify transactions and complete monthly reconciliations for bank, credit card, and liability accounts
• Tie out payroll liabilities and payroll-related expenses
• Manage law firm trust accounting processes in compliance with firm and regulatory requirements
• Law firm trust accounting experience is required
