Job summary

VargasAndrews is hiring an Intermediate Accountant (Independent Contractor) to handle core accounting tasks for US clients from the Philippines. You will post journal entries, manage receivables/payables, prepare reconciliations, payroll tasks, and assist with monthly closings.

Strong communication, leadership potential, and comfort with AI-driven processes are expected. This is a remote role with flexible setup and competitive all-in rate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous and highly organized; excellent reporting ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software like QuickBooks and Xero.

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries for all business transactions.
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
• Update accounts payable, vendor management, and perform reconciliations.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly/weekly reports and support monthly/yearly closings.
• Handle payroll-related tasks and related computations and deductions.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements per guidelines.
• Maintain accurate financial data in databases for reporting.
• Record accruals and prepayments for analysis.
• Assist with other accounting projects as required.
