Qualifications

• At least 1 year in medical credentialing, provider enrollment, or related healthcare admin role.
• Experience researching and verifying information through state medical boards or regulatory databases.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manually verify physician licenses via official state medical boards and government sites.
• Cross-reference physician data in national license index databases and authority databases.
• Confirm active, valid, unrestricted licenses for intended practice state.
• Verify prescribing eligibility where applicable.
• Review onboarding submissions for discrepancies, restrictions or expirations.
• Document verification results in the company’s prescribing platform.
• Provide feedback within one hour during business hours.
• Escalate questionable credentials to compliance.
• Maintain audit trails of verification activities.
• Protect PHI and confidentiality per HIPAA.
