Job summary

Pear Tree is seeking a meticulous Background Reference Specialist to lead independent verification for candidates worldwide. You will cross-check histories, engage with former managers in AU, NZ, and the UK, and ensure credible references with timely completion.

Responsibilities include executing end-to-end verifications, auditing inconsistencies, escalating when needed, and maintaining real-time progress with recruiters via monday.com.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written English communication at senior levels.
• Tenacious, proactive follow-up with referees across time zones.
• Analytical mindset to spot inconsistencies in CVs and references.
• Structured time-blocking and pipeline management experience.
• 2+ years in recruitment operations or background screening.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end background verifications within target turnarounds.
• Verify 4–5 referees across multiple companies; minimum 2 required.
• Validate international references (AU, NZ, UK) with supervisors.
• Cross-check referees via LinkedIn, emails, and public records.
