Job summary

Airalo is hiring a Data Engineering Manager to lead the foundational backend of our data organization and manage our current team of Data Engineers. You will shape the hiring roadmap and own architecture, ingestion, and orchestration that powers Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts, and other users.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure data is produced cleanly at the source and delivered cohesively.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data/software engineering with hands-on leadership.
• Experience with cloud ecosystems and scalable data platforms.
• Proven ability to design reliable data pipelines and governance.
• Experience in greenfield or low-maturity data environments.
• Strong communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor data engineers and CDP engineers.
• Drive hiring and role scoping for the data team.
• Own delivery roadmap and cross-functional programs.
• Represent Data Engineering to Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, exec; translate priorities.
• Transition team to structured, predictable delivery.
• Ensure pipeline reliability, observability, data quality, privacy, governance.
• Contribute hands-on when needed and review complex code.
• Partner with Analytics Engineering Manager and Data Director on self-serve analytics.
