Job summary

Penbrothers International is seeking a Data Engineer who loves building scalable data platforms. You will architect configurable, multi-tenant ETL frameworks using Python, SQL and OO design, with Polars and Pandas for heavy data transforms and BigQuery for storage and queries.

You’ll work 100% remotely, on a night shift aligned with US hours. The role emphasizes data-informed decisions and strong software hygiene across the pipeline lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Engineering with Python and SQL as core tools.
• Strong Object-Oriented background and design patterns in data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Polars and Pandas for large dataframes.
• 2+ years with BigQuery or equivalent columnar databases (Snowflake/Redshift).
• Software hygiene: pytest, Git workflows, CI/CD, type hints, structured exceptions.

Responsibilities

• Architect modular data pipelines using SOLID principles and OO design.
• Leverage Polars and Pandas for high-performance transformations.
• Manage BigQuery infrastructure: partitioning, performance optimization.
• Build config-driven ETL pipelines ( YAML/JSON) for new clients.
• Enforce quality with tests, logging, alerts, and solid version control.
