Job summary

Hickory is seeking a Data and Analytics Engineer to design and deploy robust data pipelines and analytics solutions. You will build data models, optimize SQL, and create dashboards in Power BI for business visibility.

The role requires experience with ETL, data warehousing concepts, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reliable data insights. Remote setup with morning shift support.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to optimize complex queries.
• Solid data modeling and structured data for reporting.
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Experience building data visualizations and dashboards (Power BI).
• Good grounding in data structures and algorithms.
• Practical experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Working with AI-assisted tools to support data engineering and analysis.
• Exposure to Azure, data warehousing, or solution architecture is advantageous.
• Analytical, curious, detail-oriented, and capable of independent work.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines and ETL processes to move and transform data across Hickory's systems.
• Develop and maintain data models for reliable reporting and analytics.
• Write and optimize SQL across pipelines, reporting layers, and ad hoc analysis.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
• Apply data structures/algorithms thinking to scalable data processes.
• Apply version control and CI/CD practices to data code and deployments.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate data engineering and analytics work.
• Contribute to data warehouse design, database administration, or solution architecture where relevant.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into reliable data solutions.
