Job summary

Virtual Assist, Llc is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to analyze drawings, specs, and other docs to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for construction projects. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to prepare accurate and competitive bids.

The role requires proficiency with estimating software and strong analytical skills. You will read drawings, prepare detailed estimates, and support value engineering while maintaining thorough documentation

Qualifications

3+ years of construction estimating experience.
Experience across residential, commercial, civil, or industrial projects.
Proficiency with estimating software (ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating).
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

Review architectural and engineering drawings, project plans, and specifications.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor work.
Analyze historical data and pricing trends to improve estimate accuracy.
Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and vendors.
Develop and maintain a database of unit costs, productivity rates, and supplier pricing.
Coordinate with project managers to transition awarded projects into production smoothly.
Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for all estimates.
Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, and availability.
