Job summary

Full Scale is seeking an AWS Cloud Architect to own a multi-account AWS platform, Terraform/OpenTofu modules, and ETL/data pipelines feeding a lakehouse and ML services for a US client. You will architect security, cost, and data governance while mentoring engineers in IaC and cloud patterns.

This fully remote role based in the Philippines offers senior-level ownership, architecture leadership, and collaboration with DevOps and Data Science teams to scale across business units.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud engineering with at least 4 years focused on AWS architecture.
• Expert-level Terraform or OpenTofu (module authorship, state strategy, multi-account patterns).
• Demonstrated multi-account AWS design experience (Organizations, Control Tower, SCPs, Transit Gateway).
• Strong hands-on ETL/data engineering background using AWS Glue, Spark, Step Functions, and Python.
• Experience designing data lakes or lakehouses with governance using Lake Formation or similar.
• Deep serverless experience with Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, and Aurora Serverless.
• Strong SQL and relational data modeling skills, performance tuning on Aurora or similar.

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-account AWS Organization design: OU structure, account vending, SCPs, and SSO.
• Own network architecture — Transit Gateway hub-and-spoke, VPC design, PrivateLink, DNS, cross‑account connectivity.
• Design security architecture with IAM boundaries, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and edge protections.
• Define reference architectures and standards for new services to ensure consistency.
• Author and maintain architecture documentation for teams and stakeholders.
• Lead the EKS adoption path and container strategy (Fargate vs node groups, IRSA).
• Own AWS Well‑Architected reviews and remediation actions.
• Own cloud cost architecture, tagging strategy, and workload-based chargeback.
• Own the Terraform/OpenTofu codebase end-to-end (modules, state, Terragrunt).
• Enforce IaC quality via policy-as-code, drift detection, and automated plan reviews.
• Mentor engineers on IaC patterns and best practices.
• Own lakehouse architecture (S3 zones, Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, Databricks).
• Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines from diverse data sources using Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• Ensure data quality, schema evolution, retention, and access control governance.
