The Cloud Architect is accountable for defining and governing the enterprise cloud architecture on AWS, ensuring alignment with business strategy, technology roadmaps, and security standards. This role serves as the final technical authority for cloud design decisions and leads large-scale migration and modernization initiatives across hybrid and multi-account environments.
Work Setup: Hybrid – 4 times a week on site, 1 day remote (flexible)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Define and maintain enterprise cloud architecture, reference architectures, design standards, and governance frameworks on AWS.
- Lead large-scale cloud migration and modernization programs (on-premise to AWS, hybrid, multi-account).
- Act as the final technical authority for AWS solution designs, ensuring they are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient.
- Establish and enforce cloud operating models, including landing zones, guardrails, and platform standards.
- Drive architecture review boards, design governance, and technical decision-making processes.
- Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Application, and DevOps teams to embed security-by-design and compliance controls.
- Provide executive-level stakeholder alignment, translating business requirements into strategic cloud roadmaps.
- Mentor engineering teams and promote cloud best practices and reusable patterns.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years in enterprise architecture with a strong focus on cloud.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services, including IAM, VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, Organizations, Control Tower, and security services.
- Experience with cloud governance, risk, compliance, and audit frameworks.
- Strong background in hybrid cloud architectures and migration strategies.
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
