Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced AU Senior Tax Accountant to complete working papers, manage core tax compliance tasks, and support an Australian onshore team. This remote, project-based role suits detail-driven professionals confident in Australian tax requirements and working independently.

You will handle tax compliance across individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies, and compliance needs, with hands-on duties in preparation, review, and client delivery for Australian clients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• CPA or CA qualification is preferred.
• 3+ years experience in Australian accounting or taxation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and accounting tools such as Xero and MYOB.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Tax Compliance work: lodge individual income tax returns, BAS, IAS, FBT returns, and business financial statements.
• Support Client Accounting: bookkeeping, payroll processing, invoice payments, and quarterly superannuation payments using Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks as required.
• Prepare Management Reports: produce monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Manage Complex Compliance: support company, trust, partnership, and individual compliance including Division 7A loans, tax planning, trust distribution minutes, and inter-entity transactions.
• Review and guide others: review work by junior accountants across tax returns, BAS, IAS, payroll, and related deliverables.
• Support Client Delivery: complete ad hoc client management tasks and use downtime to strengthen skills and share knowledge.
