Job summary

Magic, Inc is seeking an Assistant Buyer (Freelance) for a remote contract, supporting the Fine Jewelry buying team. The role covers analytics, PO management, and vendor coordination to drive assortments and profitability.

Work is conducted remotely with a defined project window running through January/February 2027. 40 hours per week, Eastern Time schedule, with a focus on accuracy and efficient reporting.

Qualifications

• Prior merchandising experience in fashion/luxury retail.
• Strong understanding of fashion/luxury market trends.
• Proficiency in merchandising financials and retail math.
• Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency.
• Attention to detail with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Buyer in developing merchandise assortments, sales, and inventory plans for assigned departments.
• Build assortment models and balance inventory to maximize category performance.
• Support execution of buying decisions and processes across the organization.
• Produce sales trend reports and project merchandise requirements based on sales data.
• Monitor performance against plan and flag risks or opportunities.
• Enter and manage purchase orders; monitor shipments, RTVs, and transfers.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage PCA requests.
