Job summary

Sun King is seeking an Application Security Engineer to own the end-to-end security posture of our product platform, spanning mobile apps, APIs, microservices, cloud infra, and third-party integrations. You will influence secure design early in the lifecycle and validate it through rigorous assessment.

You will perform threat modeling, architecture reviews, and vulnerability management, plus manual testing of web apps, APIs, and Android apps. Remote role with global impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field.
• 2+ years hands-on application security experience in product/SaaS environments.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, API security, and common flaws like BOLA/BFLA.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end application security for product functions, threat modeling, architecture reviews, and vulnerability management.
• Perform manual pen tests on web apps, APIs, and mobile apps.
• Review security for AI-native products, models, pipelines, and inference services.
• Onboard apps to SSDLC and serve as security contact for the product.
• Lead incident response and track remediation to closure.
• Integrate SAST/DAST/IAST/SCA in CI/CD and reduce false positives.
• Harden cloud infra (Kubernetes RBAC, Istio, IAM across providers).
• Communicate risk clearly to engineers and leaders; provide actionable guidance.
• Deliver security training for engineers and PMs.
