BairesDev is hiring an Android Framework Engineer for 100% remote work. You will shape core features in the Android Framework, work across system services, and optimize HALs for performance and power efficiency.

You will collaborate with a global Top 1% tech talent team, contribute to AOSP-aligned solutions, and advance system-level programming in C++, Java, and Kotlin. This role demands strong English and hands-on experience with kernel-adjacent development.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Android Framework or low-level systems engineering.
• Proven expertise with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and system services.
• Strong proficiency in HAL development and hardware integration.
• Deep understanding of C, C++, and Java for system-level programming.
• Hands-on experience with kernel adjacency, device drivers, and custom ROMs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core features within the Android Framework layer using Java, Kotlin, and C++.
• Extend and customize Android System Services, including Activity Manager, Power Manager, and Window Manager.
• Develop and maintain Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL) and AIDL interfaces to facilitate hardware communication.
• Optimize system-level performance, focusing on boot time, memory management, and power consumption.
• Debug and resolve complex issues across the Android stack, from system services down to kernel adjacency.
• Ensure device compatibility and stability by adhering to AOSP standards and certification requirements.
