Job summary

OTGS is seeking an AI Engineer with strong Ruby on Rails capabilities to design and ship AI-enabled features. You’ll integrate LLM APIs into Rails systems and ensure production-grade quality with tests and safeguards.

Successful candidates will balance AI usefulness with pragmatic engineering, owning delivery from design to production in a fully remote, async-friendly setup across the EMEA region.

Qualifications

• Practical experience building with AI/LLM technologies, not just using AI tools casually.
• Proficient Ruby on Rails experience, senior level preferred.
• Strong backend skills including databases, API design, performance, and security.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building AI/LLM-assisted product features
• Integrating LLM APIs into Ruby on Rails systems
• Combining AI approaches with business logic, tests, fallbacks, and production safeguards
• Owning features from technical design to production
• Improving reliability, accuracy, consistency, latency, cost, security, and maintainability
• Writing and maintaining automated tests, including unit, integration, and E2E tests
• Debugging production issues and improving system behavior over time
