Job summary

Umpisa Inc. in the Philippines is seeking a Release Manager to own the release management lifecycle across multiple applications and portfolios. The role involves scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

You will build release calendars, coordinate with project managers, monitor progress, and conduct readiness reviews, while supporting developers and testers in their environments and processes. ITIL knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in release management, project management, or service transition.
• Advanced knowledge of software development life cycle.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross functional work teams toward task completion.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills as a must.
• Nice to have experience with deploying packaged applications.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage release processes for code through development, test, and production environment.
• Work collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their build and test environments.
• Build the release calendar in working closely with project managers of different portfolios across IT and centralizing view of all releases.
• Forward plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio.
• Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
• Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations.
• Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no go reviews.
• Produce deployment, run books, and implementation plans.
• Participate in change control board meetings to discuss release scope and roadblocks.
