Job summary

Metrobank is seeking a Junior Officer in the Merchant Acquiring division based in Metro Manila. The role focuses on growing portfolio revenue while maintaining service levels and existing client relationships.

Responsibilities include merchant visits, onboarding partner merchants, and coordinating with internal teams to enhance acquiring business, with weekend and holiday availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a college or university.
• At least 2 years of sales experience in a financial institution or merchant acquiring.
• Experience coordinating with merchants.
• Willing to do field work in Metro Manila.
• Willing to work on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic plans to grow revenue, sales, market share and productivity in Merchant Acquiring.
• Onboard strategic merchant partners to grow acquiring business.
• Conduct merchant visits and outbound calls to service merchants.
• Build relationships with key areas within Metrobank Card Corp. and Metrobank Group to grow acquiring.
• Monitor performance of the merchant terminal network with regular reports.
• Implement POS product upgrades from hardware, software and communications perspectives.
• Assist in design, measure, analyze, implement and monitor strategic projects with schedules.
• Identify process/service enhancements and escalate as needed.
• Ensure concerns of key contacts are addressed timely.
• Coordinate with business units to provide feedback to key accounts.
• Perform projects/tasks (e.g., BROC, BCP, Cost Champ, Corp. Correspondents, Line Trainer, e-Champ).

Job Summary

The jobholder is primarily responsible for managing customer relationships and developing new business opportunities. The jobholder is focused on portfolio growth in a competitive environment whilst not compromising the retention of the existing customer base or service level agreements.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Support strategic plans based on growing revenue, sales, market share productivity across the Merchant Acquiring business.
• Bring on books strategic Merchant partners with a view of growing Acquiring business and increasing Metrobank Card Corp. footsteps in the industry.
• Conduct Merchant visitations, outbound calls and extending customer service activities with a view of establishing rapport with merchants and resolving issues.
• Build, develop and utilize relationships with key areas within Metrobank Card Corp. and the Metrobank Group to grow Acquiring business.
• Monitor performance of the merchant terminal network, daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Implement point-of-sales (POS) product upgrades from a device hardware, software and communications perspective.
• Assist in the design, measure, analyze, implement and monitor strategic projects to ensure that each operational aspect of the project is considered and scheduled for completion within specified timeframes.
• Identify potential process/service enhancement and escalate as necessary
• Ensure all concerns, issues and requests of the key contacts are addressed on a timely and accurate manner
• Coordinate with different business units to provide immediate feedback to key accounts
• Perform projects/responsibilities/special tasks that may be assigned from time to time (e.g. BROC, BCP, Cost Champ, Corp. Correspondents, Line Trainer, e-Champ

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree from a College/ University
• At least 2 years of experience doing sales in a financial institution or merchant acquiring business. Experience acquiring technology is an advantage
• Experience in coordinating with merchants
• Willing to do field work (area: Metro Manila)
• Willing to work on weekends and holidays
