Job summary

MESALA, based in Metro Manila, seeks a Compliance Officer to oversee regulatory adherence and internal policy implementation. The role involves monitoring laws from BSP, SEC, AMLC, CIC, NPC, and related bodies, preparing AML-related reports, and updating MLTPP documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a background in compliance or regulatory affairs, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accountancy, Legal Management, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in compliance, audit, risk management, regulatory affairs, or financial services is an advantage.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, research, documentation, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating the Compliance Manual, Compliance Program, and related policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular compliance monitoring and testing and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
• Monitor and maintain updated records of laws, regulations, circulars, and issuances from BSP, SEC, AMLC, CIC, NPC, and other regulatory bodies.
• Assist in preparing and submitting required reports and regulatory documents, including AMLC-related reports.
• Assist in maintaining and updating the Money Laundering and Terrorist Prevention Program (MLTPP) Manual.
• Provide compliance guidance and support to management and employees on regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and other financial institutions on compliance-related matters.
• Assist in addressing findings and recommendations from regulatory examinations.
• Prepare regular compliance reports and other reports required by Management and regulatory authorities.
• Identify compliance gaps and recommend improvements to policies, processes, and controls.
