Epson Philippines Corporation is seeking a Regional Technical Engineer to support both Pre-Sales and Post-Sales activities for Epson Robotics in the Philippines, with regional backup for Singapore when required.
The role collaborates with Sales, System Integrators, channel partners, and end-users to provide technical consultation, demonstrations, training, and service support, driving robot sales growth and customer satisfaction across the assigned market.
The Regional Technical Engineer is responsible for both Pre-Sales and Post-Sales / Customer Service activities for the Robotics business, with an estimated responsibility split of 50% Pre-Sales and 50% Post-Sales.
The role supports the Sales Team, System Integrators, channel partners, and end-users by providing technical consultation, application support, product demonstrations, Proof of Concept execution, training, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service support. The objective of this role is to contribute to robot sales growth, service revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and successful deployment of Epson Robotics solutions across the assigned market.
This position will primarily support the Philippines market and will also provide regional technical support for Singapore activities when required.
Work closely with the Sales Team to recommend suitable robot models, options, and technical solutions based on customer requirements.
Support System Integrators and end-users in evaluating applications, identifying technical feasibility, and resolving application-related challenges.
Provide technical consultation on complete automation solutions involving robots, vision systems, end-effectors, safety equipment, and third-party integration.
Lead and support Proof of Concept activities, including preparation, testing, demonstration, result evaluation, and technical reporting.
Work closely with the Sales Team to convert technical opportunities into successful sales projects through effective PoC execution and follow-up.
Support product demonstrations, customer visits, webinars, seminars, roadshows, exhibitions, and other sales promotion activities.
Conduct product training, application training, operation training, and maintenance training for System Integrators, channel partners, and end-users.
Provide technical guidance to sales engineers regarding market requirements, customer needs, competitor activities, and suitable product positioning.
Manage and maintain demo units, solution centre equipment, and application demonstration areas to ensure they are operational, safe, clean, and ready for customer presentation.
Build and maintain strong technical relationships with channel partners, System Integrators, and end-users to improve customer confidence and business opportunities.
Provide technical support for Robotics customers through remote support and on-site service activities.
Attend service calls within the expected response time and provide effective troubleshooting, corrective actions, and technical recommendations.
Support installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, upgrades, retrofits, replacement, and other after-sales service activities.
Work with Regional Headquarters and SEA technical teams to support regional and global customers.
Identify root causes of technical issues and coordinate with RHQ / factory technical teams where escalation is required.
Support internal junior engineers, partners, and service providers in resolving technical and application-related issues.
Prepare service reports, technical findings, corrective action reports, and recommendations in a timely and professional manner.
Identify and report any technical, quality, contractual, program, or cost-related issues at an early stage, together with recommended solutions.
Prepare spare parts and service quotations for channel partners and customers and ensure timely follow-up and billing of completed service activities.
Identify opportunities to promote spare parts, maintenance services, training, and service contracts to end-users.
Support the identification, appointment, and technical development of potential authorised service partners.
Ensure all service activities are carried out safely, professionally, and in line with Epson Robotics standards.
Good understanding of industrial robots and related automation applications.
Knowledge of factory automation, motion control, servo systems, PLCs, CNCs, vision systems, or similar industrial control systems will be an added advantage.
Familiarity with both Pre-Sales and Post-Sales / Customer Service roles within the industrial automation industry.
Ability to understand customer applications, propose suitable technical solutions, and support troubleshooting activities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with regional team members, sales teams, system integrators, and customers.
Computer literate and proficient in standard office software such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and reporting tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Minimum of 3 years of working experience as an Application Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or similar role in industrial automation.
Experience with industrial robot application, programming, installation, troubleshooting, or maintenance will be an added advantage.
Experience working with System Integrators, channel partners, or manufacturing customers will be beneficial.
Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, Automation, or other related engineering disciplines.
Technical qualification or practical experience in industrial automation, robotics, motion control, or factory automation will be an added advantage.
