Job Description
The Rebar Engineer is responsible for supporting the project in terms of site supervision and ensuring that all rebar-related activities are executed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards. The role monitors all related work activities implemented on-site based on approved work sequences, methodologies, and project specifications.
1. PRE-CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Conduct quantity survey and take-off for all rebar works in preparation for project costing and committed budget.
- Review construction plans and ensure completeness prior to implementation.
- Coordinate with Technical Support Head for FCD (For Construction Drawings), RFA (Request for Approval), RFI (Request for Information), and SUT (Site Utilization/Technical concerns).
- Coordinate with QA/QC for construction methodology and plan preparation.
- Assist in rebar cutting list preparation.
2. CONSTRUCTION PHASE
- Monitor all rebar-related site activities to ensure compliance with project schedule, cost, safety, and quality requirements.
- Supervise and monitor rebar materials delivery, handling, and utilization on-site.
- Monitor manpower productivity and subcontractor accomplishments.
- Evaluate subcontractor billing based on actual accomplishments.
- Ensure alignment of structural works with QA/QC requirements and approved plans.
- Prepare and submit Inspection Work Request (IWR) and Engineer’s Daily Report (EDR).
3. POST-CONSTRUCTION / PROJECT CLOSE-OUT
- Prepare project close-out reports related to structural and rebar works execution.
- Ensure completion and clearance of punch list items and Non-Technical Close-out (NTC) requirements.
- Monitor and compile material test results for close-out documentation.
- Assist in finalization and closure of subcontractor billing and accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC) required
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in rebar works, structural works, or general construction site supervision
- Knowledge of rebar detailing, bar bending schedules (BBS), and quantity surveying
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and structural plans
- Familiarity with construction methodologies, QA/QC procedures, and project coordination
- Understanding of construction documentation (RFI, RFA, IWR, EDR) is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of cost control and subcontractor evaluation
