Job summary

Holiday Plaza Hotel in Cebu City is seeking a skilled RAC Technician to join our maintenance team. This full-time position covers installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems across hotel facilities.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of RAC experience, a trade qualification or RAC certification, and proficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters, leak detectors, and gauges. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or certification in refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) or related discipline.
• 3–5 years' experience as RAC Technician or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of RAC systems, including mechanical and electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning units throughout the hotel premises.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in RAC systems using diagnostic tools.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Repair or replace faulty components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
• Test refrigerant levels and recharge systems; ensure environmental compliance.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards and company procedures.
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff on system upgrades and replacements.

About the role

Holiday Plaza Hotel is seeking a skilled and reliable RAC Technician to join our maintenance team in Cebu City. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems throughout our hotel facilities. As a RAC Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests enjoy comfortable accommodation and that all food storage facilities maintain optimal temperature conditions. Your expertise will directly contribute to guest satisfaction and the seamless operation of our hotel's climate control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning units throughout the hotel premises
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in RAC systems using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Repair or replace faulty components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems
• Test refrigerant levels and recharge systems as required, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work completed
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety standards and company procedures
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff to coordinate system upgrades and replacements

What we’re looking for

• Trade qualification or certification in refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) or related discipline
• Proven experience of at least 3-5 years working as a RAC Technician or in a similar role
• Sound knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including both mechanical and electrical components
• Competency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, leak detectors, and pressure gauges
• Understanding of refrigerant types and safe handling practices in accordance with environmental regulations
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to respond to emergency call-outs when required
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces safely
• Valid driver's license is preferred to enable travel between locations if necessary
