A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) Technician installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots commercial and residential HVAC, refrigeration, and cooling systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing new heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) systems according to specifications.
- Performing regular, preventative maintenance (cleaning, filter replacement) and repairing broken units to ensure continuous operation.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults in refrigeration storage units, ice machines, and air conditioning units.
- Documenting repairs, preparing service reports, and providing cost estimates to customers.
- Following safety protocols, managing refrigerants properly, and keeping work areas safe.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of HVAC-R systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical components.
- High school diploma or vocational school training in RAC technology.
- Often requires licenses or certifications (e.g., TESDA National Certificate in the Philippines).
- Capability to lift heavy equipment and work in tight, hot, or cold spaces.
- Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service skills.
- Willing to do field work : Makati, Pasay, Taguig, Pasig and Quezon City
