Dyson is seeking a Lead Rotor Dynamics and Vibration Engineer to join our Engineering Analysis PTC team. You will apply expertise in Rotor Dynamics, Vibration and FEA to deliver Dyson’s digital motor technologies, using advanced analysis, simulation, and real-world testing to optimise reliability and minimise vibration for superior noise performance.

Leading the work within cross-functional teams, you will mentor juniors, drive experiments, and document findings for design and manufacturing

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent experience.
5+ years in high- tech engineering with product development delivery.
Experience coaching junior team members.
Strong knowledge in Structural Dynamics, Rotor Dynamics, Vibrations and Acoustics.
Hands-on with rotating machinery, MATLAB, and data analysis.

Responsabilités

Rotor Dynamics Analysis: simulate and analyse high-speed rotors for dynamic stability.
Vibration Testing & Control: design and conduct tests with accelerometers/laser vibrometers.
Root Cause Investigation: diagnose vibration sources and validate design changes.
Design Collaboration: work with motor control, mechanical, and acoustic engineers.
Continuous Improvement: research and apply vibration reduction techniques.
Documentation: clearly document analyses and recommendations for teams.
