Job summary

Dyson invites applications for a Senior Design Engineer to drive development of market-leading products for global markets. You will design and deliver assemblies to production on time, optimize for cost and quality, and coach junior engineers while guiding cross-functional teams through complex problems.

You will lead design reviews, create detailed specs, and develop robust prototypes for testing. A strong background in 3D CAD, GD&T and iterative prototyping is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years designing plastic, rubber or metal products with DFM/DFX.
• Able to deliver designs to production meeting time, cost and spec.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and GD&T with tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product designs and assemblies to production on time, cost and quality.
• Plan tasks by risk, resolution, maturity and interdependency.
• Identify test requirements to replicate usage and improve robustness.
• Create and review design specs including 3D models, drawings and BOMs.
• Participate in design reviews with Leads, Managers and Heads of Department.
• Build functional prototypes for testing and demonstrations.
• Analyze test failures and develop efficient solutions.
• Perform sustaining work to improve quality, reduce costs and increase throughput.
• Coach junior engineers and ensure adherence to standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for timely inputs.
