Job summary

Cosmetique Asia Corporation is seeking an experienced R&D Manager to lead the plastics packaging division in the Philippines. You will manage the R&D team, set medium- to long-term technical plans, and mentor engineers in product development techniques.

The role requires strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and deep plastics technology knowledge to drive new products and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in chemical, manufacturing, or plastics; master's preferred.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Proven competency in project management.
• Experience as Assistant Manager or Manager of R&D - Plastics.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong knowledge of rigid and flexible plastic packaging manufacturing processes.
• Proven knowledge of plastics technology.
• Strategic thinking and ability to navigate complex situations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the R&D team and delegate day-to-day activities.
• Plan and develop medium- and long-term responsibilities to support future technical needs.
• Train and mentor R&D engineers in product development techniques.
• Develop, implement and maintain a product development management process, including periodic status reporting.
• Coordinate projects with R&D engineers and improve work procedures to accelerate product development.
• Ensure R&D analysis and project reports are accurate, timely, and clearly documented.
• Conceptualize and manage development of new products, technologies, materials, and processes in collaboration with Sales, Product Management, Production, and Cost Accounting.
• Lead continuous improvement and product-line consolidation initiatives.
• Specify and initiate new or modified equipment for new products.
• Analyze and facilitate resolution of process problems with process improvement teams.
• Work with supervisors, production, Quality, and Maintenance to troubleshoot packaging-product manufacturing issues.
• Provide technical advice and support to customers, field support personnel, and internal production managers.
• Stay updated on new products and technologies relevant to flexible and rigid packaging and related applications.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

• Engineering graduate (Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, or Plastics Technology); Master's degree preferred.

• 8-10 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
