Job Description:
A R&D Analyst provides support to R&D Specialists by independently performing standard analysis on samples related to the development of new products (personal care, household care & EDT, EDC, EDP). A R&D Analyst will display good laboratory skills and understanding of basic chemical principles and fundamental analytical chemical theories. He/she will operate and maintain instrumentation, define and measure quality metrics and report results in an appropriate manner. The R&D Analyst will establish good working relationship and participate on analytical or research project teams.
Key responsibilities:
Properly apply rudimentary chemistry principles and standard laboratory procedures to samples for analysis (stability samples, initial trial formulation samples, expired RM, expired FG, New RM, etc.)
Using written or oral instructions, accurately prepare samples and conduct routine chemical analysis daily on a scheduled basis in collaboration with R&D Specialists and R&D Manager
Operate various standards analytical instruments and perform basic maintenance according to established methods
Record, collect and review experimental data and communicate results to R&D Specialists and R&D Manager
Support R&D Specialists on advanced projects and accurately record in R&D Analyst record book
Work on two to three assignments simultaneously and complete them within agreed upon time frames
Work within and contribute enhancements to the process and systems of the R&D Lab
Contribute to the daily operational tasks and organization of the R&D Lab and participate in corporate initiatives
Conduct Raw Materials qualifications and monitor Raw Materials Shelf-life
Perform all work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner by following all company policies/procedures/programs
Qualifications:
At least 0-2 years experience as an Analyst or in a laboratory environment
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
Pharmacist, Chemist, or Chemical Engineer (Preferably with license but is not required)
Knowledge in ASEAN Current Good Manufacturing Practice
Knowledge in Research and Development
Good time management
Ability to proficiently work with pH meter, viscometer, refractometer, hydrometer or quantitative chemistry
Capable of effective oral and written communication
Ability to learn and follow verbal instructions and written procedures with minimal oversight
Working knowledge on Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
